Maison Zufferey by Nunatak Architects

I’m not sure I would want to live in this house, but it sure is fun to look at.

Mediterranean Bliss

I’d be thrilled to stay in a shack anywhere near Sardinia – so I can only imagine what it would be like to stay in a place like this:

Contemporary home in “ile de La Maddelena” designed by architect Jean-Paul Arrivetz, as seen in Marie Claire Maison.

What I particularly love: Window instead of backsplash in kitchen, tiled bathroom walls, black oval tub. steel beams. Could go on and on…

Shobac Cottages

As a Canadian, I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve never been to the Maritimes. Nova Scotia is on my target list for next summer and I now have even more reason to visit:

Thanks to my world-class adventurer friends at Trufflepig, I’ve discovered the Shobac cottages near Lunenburg, NS. This ocean-side spot, designed by architect Bryan Mackay-Lyons along with support of interns from his “Ghost” summer architectural apprenticeship, offers four newly constructed cottages, a large studio, and an octagonal barn.

Each identical 800 square foot cottage has 7-foot tall windows that frame the ocean view of the Atlantic. You can rent a single unit or the entire place for an event.

Sounds fantastic…now I just have to concoct an event worthy enough for a stay!

More Kitchens Please…

Lately, I seem to be getting a lot of requests for kitchen ideas. When I was building our place, this was also the room where I could never seem to find enough clippings.

So, here you go. Loads of design inspiration. Hope you’re hungry:
