Happy New Year!

2011. Hard to believe.

I love New Year’s. Not the parties or the weather, but this is the time of year when I really sit down and reflect. I take stock. It makes me feel good. Hopeful.

I’ve been up since 4:30 am with the baby, both of us sniffling and coughing with colds, and all I can really feel right now is blessed. I’m one #(*$(*% lucky girl.

Now just give me 1 full night of sleep and I’ll really be bouncing off the walls!

Happy New Year everyone. Wishing you a delicious 2011 filled with health, happiness, and loads of inspiration.

Travel Log: The Boundary Hotel, London

Well, I’m back from holiday, but I have to admit, I’m in need of another vacation. This one didn’t turn out exactly as planned. Our entire household got sick. Sadly, the baby got it the worst of all. Not fun. So here I am, lying in bed, dreaming of my next getaway.

Let’s start in London. A few days at The Boundary Hotel would be a good fix. This hotel was designed by Conran & Partners. It’s located in a converted Victorian warehouse in the Shoreditch district. There are only 17 guestrooms and each one pays homage to a designer or design movement. Take that plus a fabulous rooftop and cafe and I might just start feeling a tad better.

Bye Bye Winter

On that note, my vacation starts tomorrow. We’re heading South. Yay. Have a lovely holiday everyone!

No.1 Lower Carbon Drive

How great is this? I just discovered UK Architecture firm, The AOC, and their No.1 Lower Carbon Drive project. It’s a touring “home” with the mission of educating Londoners on how to reduce CO2 emissions. Brilliant and beautiful at the same time.
