Rug Placement: Hallway

The poor forgotten hallway. It’s probably one of my favourite spots to add a rug (or runner) – but is so often overlooked. In my (humble) opinion, the hallway is the perfect spot to add character. You don’t have to be so concerned about sizing, matching, etc…and you can really just have fun and treat this piece like an accessory. Stress free! Go for it.

Rug Placement: Bedroom

Some more rug inspiration. In a bedroom, it’s always nice to be able to have something soft underfoot. If you can swing it, I like to have a rug sit just in front of the nightstands, with good coverage all around…but this can get pricey. Understandably, lots of people don’t want to pay for a big area rug and have most of it hidden under a bed. So…there are loads of ways to get creative – runners on either side of the bed, a rug in front of the bed, off to the side, partially under the bed… As always, anything goes. Here’s some inspiration on rug placement / style in a bedroom:

Rug Placement: Living Room

I’m often asked how and where to place a rug. I’ll do some posts on various rooms, but as you can see…really anything goes! For the living room, if you can afford a bigger rug, I say, go for it – I tend to like a rug to go in front of the back legs of a couch – but there are lots of ways to get by with smaller pieces and there are definitely no rules. Would love to hear your thoughts on any / all of this. Comment on IG, Facebook or send an email to info@oliveryaphe.com.

Hallway Runners

It’s hard for me to talk about hallways and not mention rugs…I’ve been doing a lot hallway runners lately and I think it’s the perfect spot to add a lil’ something something. So…to follow up on yesterday’s post, here some more hallway inspiration:
