Get Your Wheels on: Part Deux

Mar 31 2011

Since I seem to have biking on my mind, I thought I’d share some more cycling related inspiration. Again, my latest find comes out of London. Maybe someone’s trying to tell me something.

Not only was London’s bike share program recently launched (care of Barclay’s), bike superhighways are rolling out (no pun intended), but there’s also a slew of bike related hot spots popping up.

What’s not to love about the latest, Look Mum No Hands? This cafe or hang-out or whatever you want to call it, is a spot where you can grab a drink, get your bike fixed, watch a flick. If that’s not enough, the t-shirts are pretty cool.

I can’t wait for inspired spots to open on this side of the pond! Hopefully some entrepreneurial soul is reading this.

Bring it On!

Mar 1 2011

Here’s something you probably didn’t know about me – I’m a ping pong junkie. Should I say that out loud? Well, maybe junkie is a bit strong, but you get the picture.

When I spotted this James Perse Limited edition ping pong table on Remodelista, I got all giddy. And it looks like I’m not alone, the table is sold out!

In honour of this favoured past-time, I also wanted to share some shots of The Book Club in London. This cultural hang-out of sorts is located in London’s east end. It’s a spot for talks, readings, live music…and yes, ping pong.

This is my kind of place. Thanks to Miss Moss for the introduction.

Travel Log: The Boundary Hotel, London

Dec 29 2010

Well, I’m back from holiday, but I have to admit, I’m in need of another vacation. This one didn’t turn out exactly as planned. Our entire household got sick. Sadly, the baby got it the worst of all. Not fun. So here I am, lying in bed, dreaming of my next getaway.

Let’s start in London. A few days at The Boundary Hotel would be a good fix. This hotel was designed by Conran & Partners. It’s located in a converted Victorian warehouse in the Shoreditch district. There are only 17 guestrooms and each one pays homage to a designer or design movement. Take that plus a fabulous rooftop and cafe and I might just start feeling a tad better.

Lovely London Townhouse

Apr 13 2010

If you haven’t had a chance to pick up a copy of Elle Decor’s April 2010 issue, here are some shots of Christine D’Ornano’s stunning London home.

This house is filled with character and fabulous lighting fixtures! I love the pink living room walls and of course, the Serge Mouille lighting. The floral wallpaper by Osborne & Little adds a whimsical touch to a home already filled with amazing details.
