Serious Living

Feb 6 2012

I thought I’d kick off the work week with an over the top posting. I’m sort of torn about this one, actually. I wanted to share these shots, but also can’t believe that this is how some people live. What do you think? Too much? Done right? Take it? Leave it? Let me know.

I Love Architecture: Weteringschans Apartment, Amsterdam

Jan 24 2012

There are a few details I really like in this Amsterdam home by I Love Architecture.

The yellow pendants bring the space to life, I think. I really like how the bookshelf is built into the main panel of wall where the tv sits. It’s sort of a nook, which is a neat idea I haven’t seen used that often. It also bridges the gap between the living room and kitchen and adds some more colour to the home.

My only suggestion: The living room could use a good rug!

House Tour: Pitch’s House by Architects Iñaqui Carnicero

Apr 7 2011

I’ve always wondered what it would be like to live in one of these very sleek, concrete modern homes. Well, after seeing The Pitch’s House by Madrid based architects Iñaqui Carnicero, I think I could give it a serious try.

To be honest, I’d settle for a framed print of this first exterior shot. Beautiful.
